Warranty incorrect voided. Technician Root Cause Analysis is invalid
I bought a phone at Incredible Connection in Sandton and the phone started to give me issues with my sim card, it was no longer detecting the sim card. Phone was still under warranty and I took back the phone to the shop to assess why it is not reading the sim card. The phone was in a working condition when i took it to the shop and they booked it to the Vodacom Repair centre at East Gate. When they were assessing the phone they said the phone has voided the warranty because it was due due to physical damage. The phone started not to read the sim card way before it even had a small crack at the back. A lady by the name of Lauren Pillay quoted me R3800 to fix the phone and i had to pay this amount cash. Phone is still under warranty it was taken back to the shop because it was not reading the sim card. How can i possible physically damage the sim card reader? The technicians root cause analysis is invalid. They are shifting the blame as if i am the one who physically damaged the device.
How can you be charge R3800 for a phone only cost R2900. My phone was taken on the 26th of July 2021, I still haven't receive it and I use my phone for work related purpose. what's the use to have the warranty policy and when times comes for it to kick in now you are starting to look for minor issue so that useless warranty can be voided. I will never recommend anyone to buy any vodacom device from Incredible Connection or from any other outlets.
