Warranty claim not honored and illiterate staff

Around the 5th of April this year I booked my Samsung A54 at your lakeside mall Branch because my phone just stopped charging and could not use it. It was a warranty claim and therefore I had not paid anything for this claim.

When I collected it on the 15th April 2024 after the job was completed I noticed that they had replaced a lot of parts that were not faulty such as the screen and battery. My screen was in pristine condition as I had a screen protector on it and my battery lasted more than a day.

The last two weeks I have noticed that my battery does not last long and in one instance the phone with little use at 3pm to 9pm my phone went from 49% to 3%. Another occasion it went down 7% in the time in a space of 6 Hours with no use, no WIFI, mobile data or anything that could possibly use it at that rate.

I booked the phone in at Vodacom lakeside mall on 7 July 2024 at 9am when they had opened. The phone was still in the 90 day warranty period(8days before the warranty will expire) I expect this defective battery to be replaced at no cost.

Tuesday 9 July 2024 I receive a call saying that I owe a cost on this Warranty Claim as it not in Warranty according to them. They made it sound like I had claimed for insurance. After telling them that it was a warranty claim on a repair done in April this year they come back saying that the phone had a 6 month warranty and it expired last year after purchase. Bear in mind that the warranty repair job was only completed on the 15 of April 2024. I told them that it was this year and they told me the THREE MONTH WARRANTY EXPIRED IN JUNE. How did these people get through school and think that there are three months between April 15 to June 15. April 16 to May 15 - 1 month May 16 to June 15 - 1 month June 16 to July 15 - 1 month

After I pointed out to this lady on the phone that I was still in the three month period, she said that her manager was not in and she would call me back. I AM STILL WAITING FOR THAT CALL.

It appears that Vodacom lakeside mall is trying to look for every excuse not to honor the warranty on the repair done in April. To replace parts such as the screen and battery that were working just fine constitutes *****. This is not the first time these people have done it to me when claiming from insurance in the past. These *****ulent working part replacements basically made my excess more than it needed to be not to mention Samsung replacing working parts such as screen and battery when it was something to do with the charging port warranty claim.

It is shocking that I have to now deal with staff who are illiterate, mangers who are not even on the shop premises at 10:55am in the morning to assist and calling me a customer back regarding this matter.

There is no damage what so ever on that phone when booked in. Screen was pristine, no scratches or dents.

I would like this warranty claim sorted out as soon as possible.

Thank you
