Vodashop Gape Gate
On Saturday 29 August 2020 I went to the Vodashop Cape Gate opposite Checkers, to pay my cell phone account. On getting to the store the door was locked with staff and customers were inside. No reason for this was noted on the door. When one of the sales staff came to open the door for another staff member I asked what this was about. She advised it is on the owners instruction. I asked if she and he is aware that it is against Health and Safety regulations to lock the door, which is the only emergency exit, when customers are in the shop. She shrugged her shoulders and locked the door again. When I could enter the store, staff memeber 523 MC Coetzee assisted me at 14:02:37. I also asked him the same question. He arrogantly answered ... SO ? WE CAN LOCK THE DOOR IF WE WANT TO! Again I said it is against Health and safety regulations. He said I don't care, our safety is more important. My partner checked him because he was rude and arrogant to a client. H MC Coetzee responded he could talk to a client any way he wanted to. My partner asked him if he wanted a reminder of how to talk to a client. MC Coetzee then continued to "invite" my partner outside the store and said "kom uit dan wys ek jou hoe moer ek jou". Now I have been a customer of Vodacom for a very long time, and I have always valued the service offering of the products. This behavior however of this youngster is shocking. This store does not deserve any recognition for any service delivery and this staff member should in no way be employed in any position due to his attitude. Who ever this owner is, if he is scared of the safety of his staff and the fears a armed ******* of the stock, he should employ a security guard. This matter was referred to the Cape Gate centre manager as well, who still needs to get back to me, which I doubt will happen.
