Voda****, cry the beloved corporation

And here we go again…

Continuing from my previous rant, things have once again taken a turn for the worst. I was actually contacted by Voda****. See said communication:

“30th of October 2016: On behalf of Vodacom, kindly accept our sincere apology for the manner in which your enquiry was dealt with and for any inconvenience caused.

This is certainly not in line with Vodacom's aim in achieving service excellence. Please be informed that we loaded a credit to the value of R300 (reflect within 48 hours) for the debit order return fees, as a once off gesture of goodwill.

Please contact our Subscriber Collections Team on ********** regarding the debit order reinstatement. Please note that if the debit order is removed, you have the options to EFT the funds.

Thank you for the time and effort taken to voice your dissatisfaction to our office. It is with the cooperation and feedback from valued clients such as yourself that we are able to identify any possible improvement areas in our organization.”

I was enthusiastic about this email as I actually thought that Voda**** had sorted it out. I even went so far as to complement the person for the assistance.

Therefore, I phoned the specified number on Monday, reinstated the debit order, and confirmed the amount of R1061. Tuesday morning I received a SMS notification and surprise surprise…notice of payment for R1361…

I have 7 days to reverse a debit order, so you have 7 days to get your act together. The R300 credit, once off as a gesture of goodwill has also not been loaded. I want the R300 that was debited extra directly debited to my FNB account…please.

If not I will reverse the payment on Tuesday the 8th of November 2016, and we can start this dance all over again.

Might I also suggest that you actually use this opportunity to educate, ups**** or train the people working for you, as you have the recordings and emails.

Kind regards

A “very happy” client.
