Vodaom debt collection + legal team sucks

Vodacom is a USELESS company! I've moved to China and cancelled all my contracts. I ended up paying like R14000 to cancel most of my contracts and left 1 running as my bank sent OTP's to it. Eventually I cancelled this number. For some reason (unknown to my bank) the debit order was rejected. According to my bank statements the debit order went through but somewhere it was rejected and returned unpaid (although I saw the money leave my bank account) But nevertheless Vodacom did not contact me AT ALL to let me know what happened. Instead, they waited 4 months later to hand me over to their lawyers and sent me a FINAL LETTER OF DEMAND. For R280.88!! How pathetic. Had they contacted me within a week or month of the "debit order failing" I would've paid the money no problem. But to not send a 1st letter or 2nd warning NOTHING - just straight hand over to lawyers. Where I then got a stinky email saying that they are aware the economy is bad and "times are tough" and they know its not me not wanting to pay but the inability to do so. Its R280.88!!! They carrying on like I owe them R20000. And the manner in which the email was sent was just stupid. You don't know me, nor my financial status. Vodacom needs to up their department which handles the legal side to make sure they contact the customer and not just hand over to lawyers and maybe change the company they use for their legal matters because they stink too. (a list of issues with them aswell - not replying to my emails + telling me to speak to Vodacom when its HANDED OVER TO THEM) I suggest avoiding Vodacom as a service provider. Their network is decent but their service SUCKS.

"a consultant will make contact with you in due course" ..The same "due course" that was 4 months that Vodacom failed to contact me to make me aware of an outstanding debit order? Where for 4 months there was NO contact from Vodacom and ONLY on the 4th month contact was made via email where I was sent a "final letter of demand" and given summons by your legal department??
