Vodafone Live subscription on my Vodacom account.

Since mid July 2017 I have unsuccessfully tried to cancel a Vodafone Live subscription on my Vodacom account.

I have call 082111 on 3 occasions now to log the same query.

The first call was in mid July when My Bill so far revealed at that point an amount of R120.00 for Vodafone live. The consultant assured that he had cancelled the Vodafone Live subscription and had escallated it to the technical department for a refund. I was advised I will receive a credit of R114.90. However the subscription was NOT CANCELLED and by month end it had ballooned to R186.87, which now reflects in my 01/08/2017 Invoice.

At least twice a week I go onto My Vodacom to click on Play Every Day and at the same time to check my Bill So Far. I was shocked to see last week that the Vodafone Live subscrition was still active and was accumulating after I was assured it had been CANCELLED. Once again I called 082 111 and spoke to a very nice chap Neo. He at first kept refering to my concluded and finalised August bill, where a R114.90 will be credited, which is now up a shortfall of R71.97 per my August invoice.

I was though trying to bring to his attention that I'm referring to my August So Far Bill, which will be billed on the 1 September 2017. The Vodafone Live amount had accumulated to to a large sum already as of last week 3 or 4 August. Neo went on to advised me that in fact the Vodafone live Subscription had not been cancelled on my account, yet the previous log by the service consultant then per my call of July stated it had been. I held on the line while he said he will log a further service request for a refund and for the technical department to call me. He assured me either he or they will call me back, but as of today neither has.

Today however I went on My Vodacom to see my Bill so far to be shocked even further. The Vodafone Live amount had now escallated to over R300 for August and that is only 10 days into the month. At this rate I hate to see what its going to escallate to by month end.

Needless to say I called 082 111 and this time spoke to Nozipho. Nizipho proceeded to sms me that I could cancell the Vodafone live subscription myself by sending STOP to 31116 or to log into http://live.vodafone.com, go onto my account and cancel the subscription. While I held on as she was logged a further service request for the refund, I tried both the 31116 route and the website. 31116 responded with an sms that read "Sorry this code does not exist' and to visit http://live.vodafone.com. On trying to log into http://live.vodafone.com it camesback with 'This page cannot be displayed'.

I could hear Nozipho tryping away in the background on the phone and I brought it to her attention that neither 31116 nor http://live.vodafone.com work. She said that she will add it to her service request to cancel the Vodafine Live subscription while requesting the refund, seeing the self service links do not work. This she said would take up to 7 days for them to respond. I tried to explain to her that by then the refund amount would have doubled if the Vodafone subscription isn't cancelled now today. She did not seem to grasp the gravity of the situation and said that is all she can do. I responded that this will now be the 3rd time that a Service Request has been logged yet nothing has come of the two prior logs.

Agitated now, which I know does not help the situation, i asked to speak to a supervisor. James came on the line and proceeded to reiterate exactly what Nozipho said with no better solution. He echoed to send STOP to 31116 or log into http://live.vodafone.com . He seemed none the wiser when I informed him that neither of those 2 options work.

After he said that, that is all that can be done is to log a Service Request and me asking how is this going to resolve my issue this time as this route has now been embarked on 3 times with no feedback or resolution from the technical department, he assured me that he will give me a call next week Monday 14 August with an update. I asked what is to done about the August refund as, as of today is R300 plus but its going to be a lot more in 7 days time. He could not offer a response to this until the technical department has Cancelled the Vodafone Live subscription.

To consider the VodaFone Live subscription in the first place, i found an interesting article at http://www.vodacom.co.za/mobile/main/services/mycontentvodafonelive . The contents of the article state under 'How much does it cost?' , which is where it gets really interesting, is

- If you are a Vodacom customer, browsing Vodafone live is FREE. (I would not even know where to go as the website given to me by Nozipho cannot be displayed.)

- It goes on to say ' You only pay when you purchase content like games and ringtones, download music or subscrice to services like mobile TV or text and video alerts.

- YOU WILL ALWAYS BE TOLD WHAT THE COST IS BEFORE YOU PURCHASE.

- All data is FREE except when you download music.

How then with tears in my eyes have I been subscribed to Vodafone live in the first place and being bill daily, seeing I was never told or forwarned of any costs before making such an apparent purchase?

I really look forward to hearing from Vodacom where a full explanation is provide and a full refund at minimum is given from when i was billed for this subscription until the day it is officially cancelled. In addition if a working site or a working sms can be provided that one can dial into or a site log onto to cancel such rogue subscriptions immediately when its brought one's attention on one's Bill so far.
