Vodadom have invited legal action against themselves because of blatant contractual gluttony

Our Client’s cell phone contract was upgraded by Vodacom to a 36-month contract without his consent or knowledge. He was not told that his pending upgrade would change to a longer term from the 24 months’ contracts that he has repeatedly held with Vodacom. He initially complained of this contractual deception at the end of 2019, and was promised the upgrade would be reversed. Vodacom didn't take his word for him not knowing about the term increase, and listened to call recordings. Vodacom subsequently acknowledged they had made a mistake by not informing him the upgrade was to a longer 36 month one. This is where the Vodacom Client loses out. Vodacom quickly undertook to reverse the contract in 2019. Nothing happened. To his horror Vodacom had not upheld their promise. Having not heard anything from Vodacom by early January 2020, he reluctantly called again to complain that his upgrade had not been reversed as promised by Vodacom and no feedback had been received. He had to start from scratch again, explaining his situation to yet another consultant who promised to reverse it, and give him feedback. Again, nothing happened. To his horror Vodacom had not upheld their promise. Having again not received any feedback from Vodacom after his second complaint, he reluctantly called for a third time which he anticipated would cause personal stress and time wastage. And lo and behold, on the third call he had to start from scratch again with yet another consultant, explaining his situation from the beginning. Vodacom again promised to reverse the upgrade and give him feedback on Monday, 27 January 2020. (He had assured the consultant he’d be available on that day and even gave them an alternate number – this after he was told by Vodacom that the previous time, when Vodacom had tried to contact him, he was unavailable). 27 January 2020 came and went and no call from Vodacom was received. To his horror Vodacom had again not upheld their promise, causing personal stress to the Vodacom client. Having again not received feedback from Vodacom after his third complaint, he is refusing to call Vodacom for a fourth time. He is a professional and a business owner, and deems he has wasted excessive personal time (and hence lost income) to fix Vodacom’s contractual negligence which Vodacom has proven unable or unwilling to repatriate. Vodacom have suggested to him that by not acting on his complaints, they appear to be doing everything in their power not to accept responsibility for his growing financial losses. Vodacom have also proven to him that their consultants lie or are extremely *********** or are poorly managed. On the last call he made it clear to the Vodacom consultant, that if Vodacom’s contractual gluttony is not reversed, he would take legal action against Vodacom. His legal representatives are now letting Vodacom know through this Hello Peter post, that he is taking legal steps. Vodacom illegitimately benefitted and continue to benefit from not reversing the upgrade.

Reviewer Update
Vodacom has resolved the matter of the contract renewal to 36 months instead of 24 months.

But we now see an erroneous charge to the February Vodacom 2020 Invoice of an additional R2 969.97 for "Equipment - balance of Contract 15" - what on earth is this for?

We have twice contacted Vodacom for resolve and reversal in the past week, but to date all emails have been ignored. Please remove this charge and refrain from *****ing money from your clients Vodacom.
