VodaCON Upgrade hell

I have a R199 per month contract that is due for an upgrade and was called by Vodacom agents to get this upgraded since February. I didnt want to spend any more than R199 so waited until there was a reasonable phone on offer for the same contract price. I tried to upgrade online (supposedly free as per all the Vodacom adverts and mailers I received) and at the end of the process was told an agent would contact me. A few hours later I then got an sms saying an agent was trying to get hold of me and asked me to call back to process the upgrade. So much for an easy process. I did call back and I specifically confirmed with the agent that the cost of the upgrade would only be R199 per month and there were no additional costs applicable and was assured this was so. Ha ha. After receiving the phone 2 weeks late, I have now received a bill for over R400. On querying this with Vodacom yesterday and being shunted between 3 different people over a 45 minute call, all who gave me dfferent answers I have come to the conclusion that Vodacom is doing their best to ******* their loyal cusotmers. I was told that I am being charged R350 per month for 'promotional, free' data, which gets reversed only the next month (so pay the VAT this month)! As well as R150 for an upgrade fee (not once was this fee mentioned during the upgrade process, in fact your agents vary between saying this only applies if you upgrade online and another says this only applies if you upgrade via the call centre -do the staff know themselves??) as well as the continued monthly fee of my old contract until this is due to expire in May. What was the point of doing the upgrade now? Why was I called almost everyday to put the upgrade through since February if I effectively have to pay for 2 contracts until the old expires? Vodacom you have lost the plot and if this is how you treat decade long existing customers then rest assured, the 3 contracts I have with VodaCON will not be renewed when the times comes.
