VODACON

Vodacom = Voda CON

A few months ago I was contactes by a Vodacom sales agent and asked if I'd like to have an early upgrade on my data contract. As I'd had Fibre installed at home, I declined and specified that the contract must please be canceled once the 24 month term was up, ending November 2020.

I was surprised to see my latest statement is not only still charging me for this contract (which should have been canceled already), they were now charging me almost double the normal Rand value.

I queried this with customer care and was told that because the 24 month period was up, they were no longer giving me the "discounted" rate. I disputed this and got a response telling me I was in the wrong and liable for the full amount. I again disputed this, and again explained why they are in the wrong here. The response was rude, telling me that, again, I was liable. So I disputed this again and was told the query has been resolved and they have given their response. No further action.

I can't believe that after being a contract customer for over 13 years, they are prepared to lose me as a customer for good, as I caught them in the act of intentionally trying to rip me off.

*** is the reference number I was given

Absolute nonsense

I got the same cut and paste response from Brenda Nghonyama in Vodacom customer care. I'm not accepting this. I will be taking this further
