Vodacom's worst shop!!!
As a black man I'm very accustomed to poor service because in general tend to leave the best customer care for white people, however I was never ready for the service I received at Bayside Mall's Vodacom. I app**** for a contract phone 4 weeks ago and the consultant Kyle (an Indian gent) told me that the phone would be available in 2 weeks time due to demand. I was reluctant to say the least because I needed the phone for work purposes but since I was already at the store I decided to proceed with it. 2 weeks later I've received no communication no e-mail whatsoever about the whereabouts of my device.
On the 3rd week I decide to go to the store to find out and I'm dealt by a different consultant. A coloured lady this time who tell's me that phones take months to be delivered and as I'm in shock I see the consultant who dealt with me (Kyle) who then apologizes for not communicating with me and then reassures me that the device would be available within the next week.
Fast forward to the 4th week on Monday (27/03/23) I head over to Bayside to try and get my phone and guess what ??? Nothing again and still no communication from Kyle so Im dealing with a different consultant again who then tells me that usually there's delays and when they do happen they can usually call the store which delivers the phone to find out how long a phone takes to get delivered. Oh and Kyle is off today so I couldnt have a word with him.
I leave my number with the consultant and ask him to pass it on to Kyle (who already took my number when I was filling in the forms for the contract) so that I may receive communication instead of driving back & forth to the store.
Now comes today Wednesday (29/03/23) I still haven't received any word from Kyle who was due back at work on Tuesday (28/03/23). I head to Vodacom again and I see the consultant who helped me on Monday. I quickly ask him in the presence of Kyle if he had passed my number on to Kyle and he says yes and even goes as far as asking Kyle if he has called me yet to which he just looks away and continues helping this other elderly gent he was busy with. At this point I've been in the store for about 1 hour and 30 minutes waiting on Kyle to finish on 2 clients who were there before me. Mind you the other consultant who was also working today is the coloured lady who I've encountered before and she has helped about 5 different people while I've been in this que waiting for Kyle. I admit I could've by now moved to her for assistance but I'm tired of this runaround so I want my original consultant to help me today (Kyle).
After an hour & half I finally give in because I have I have other commitments to attend to and so I speak with the coloured lady to find out if the phone has arrived yet and her attitude was not good at all. Her voice was loud as she was speaking to me and other customers could hear our conversation and she basically told me they don't have phones and I must practically see what I must do. Now Imagine hearing this **** after 4 weeks of running up and down that store and being avoided like a bad habit by Kyle. On my way out I decide to write the Complaints manager number to see maybe if Il get some clarity. I call the number and guess who picks up? The rude coloured lady who had just addressed me.
