VODACOM'S VANISHING DATA

Good day

I use a Vodacom router to go into my internet mainly to check my whattsapp messages, check emails and send emails. Sometimes I go to Property 24.

I have noticed that my data finishes very fast. It does not last for a day. I recharge with 1G for R149, and that 1G will not last me more than an hour.

I have done Vodacom customer care line 135 in vain. All I get is *********** agents and useless team leaders. Each time I phone and complain the agent will ask what device am I using etc, and then jump into conclusion that my device has apps that automatically updates.

My question is always how can you prove this. They tell me to check my device, I've had my device checked and triple checked yet the problem persists.

I call again, the next agent will tell me Vodacom 1G data is split between day and night. If I want to use the other portion I must use it at 00:00 mid night.

Now I cannot wake up in the middle of the night to use the internet. In the last 8 days I have spent R400 on Vodacom data that lasted me 3 hours.

I am very disappointed with Vodacom, I always hear people say Vodacom is expensive but chose to stick with it anyway as a loyal customer.

But it has become too expensive to continue using Vodacom. Yesterday afternoon 7/02/2019, I bought R149 Vodacom data, but it was depleted by 08/02. I am told it was used on 08/02 between 10:30 - 10:54 am, 14:12-14:51, 17:10 - 17:26 then it depleted. When I calculate these sessions I get 79 minutes.

So if I brought data for R149 and it lasts me 79 minutes it means Vodacom charges me R1.90 per minute for using their data. Which is more expensive than the expensive local internet cafè that charges R1.00 a minute.

I am very disappointed Vodacom, I've had my calls dropped by agents, but more over by Rose Khoza who called herself a team leader.

In the last 8 days I have spoken to: Sabelo who seemed clueless and was ***********,did n't know most of the things he was talking about. He kept me waiting for over 20 minutes then dropped my call.

Then I called again spoke to Jeanette who was *********** as well, I had to relate my story all over again to her. She then transferred me to her team leader Rose Khoza,I had to relate my story to her again for the third time now. I was appaulled Rose's stupidity and lack of reasoning. When Rose realized that I was asking difficult questions she decided to drop my call.

I called again and spoke to Lethu who told me that my 1G data was divided into 2. Day usage and midnight usage (Lethu reasoned far better than Miss Rose Khoza)

Today 08/02 I called again and spoke to Lifa who spoke like a politician ready to defend before listening to my complaint.

Between 06/02 and 08/02 I have spent R250 on Vodacom data that did not last me 2 hours. My 16 year old son tells me with Telkom I can get 20G for R235 p.m.

I think I must just switch my service provider and move over to Telkom. Because I can no longer endure the abuse and incompetence of Vodacom and Vodacom customer care agents. Your call center is a nightmare.

Your agents are ***********. I know Vodacom might not even feel a pitch if they lose me as a customer, but over time Vodacom will lose a significant number of customers. Even giants do fall, it does n't matter how long it takes. But Vodacom will crumble eventually.

Whether you lose a significant markert share, or you are fined by the consumer protection agencies, but you will feel the pinch one day. I'll keep watching the news for the updates.

Finally I was given an email address by a customer care agent named Lifa where I can send my email in writing ********** guess what? That email address does not exist. Comes back with postmaster error message. I wash my hands off Vodacom

There is a saying in isiZulu that says "sizoyidla siyiqede lendlovu kancane kancane". I leave you with those words.
