Vodacom's Undisclosed Forced Contract Extensions

Vodacom will trap you with their undisclosed cellphone contract extensions. With me they stopped debiting my account for a couple of months, then when I noticed I'd ask them to reactivate the contract and would have to back pay the missed months. They did this a couple of times, so I eventually asked why they stopped debiting; They didn't know why. Of course, they are capturing negative entries against my credit report for all these even though it was not me that did not "pay".

At the end of the contract, they confirmed that it was suppose to end and could therefor cancel it any time. When I finally decided to cancel, they tell me I cannot, not without facing penalties because my contract has been extended to next year...because of the missed payments. How can you extend it when I paid for those months? Anyhows, the contact centre agent continues to inform me that there's no process to logging a query/complaint about this, no escalation. She offers to have her manager talk to me, but the manager refuses. I call again to ask for the call recordings, which they state are available upon request and are legally binding, she informs me that Vodacom does not send these out.

I have paid for every month of my contract period, even the ones they chose not to debit, and they are forcing a period extension that they did not disclose for missed months that I paid for.
