Vodacom’s UN-ETHICAL business practice

Upgraded with Vodacom at Tygervalley store on the Black Friday data deal. I used my same SIM card and number being an upgrade. When going through the contract before signing I noticed a charge of ten rand for caller ID. As this is a data only sim I told the consultant that caller ID on a data package does not make sense and that it must be removed. The consultant informed me that caller ID can only be removed once the contract was signed and processed and that he will ensure that it is removed. Three weeks on and checking my account bill on the Vodacom app today the caller ID is still on my contract at an additional amount of ten rand. I called customer I was put on hold as the normal computer generated voice told me due to the high caller volume. I looked up the Vodacom customer care email on Google just to find that it was out of service. My previous upgrade with Vodacom was exactly the same. They simply add these extra costs without discussing it with you first or giving you a choice where after you must battle to have it removed or if unaware just pay ten rand a month over the two or three years contract. This is an absolute *******.
