Vodacom's Tobi Bot is Useless
Vodacom has a bot called Tobi. Tobi simply does not work. Tobi was either completely unresponsive, or responsive up to a point and then no further. I needed my PUK. One of Tobi's options was to give me my PUK. I selected that option, then nothing. Every other way I tried to get help from Vodacom referred me to this useless bot. It's like banging your head against a brick wall. All Vodacom wants to do is sell you stuff. But do not expect any customer care.

04 Dec 2025, 17:23It just goes from bad to worse. A Vodacom Customer Care consultant apparently tried to call me twice today, during lunch. I was unable to take the calls. I then received an SMS recording the unsucessful attempts to call me, and referring to an email sent to my address. The email does not seek to explain why `I got such poor service (as in none at all), but says that they tried to call me! Neither the cel number from which the sms was sent, nor the email address, allow for replies. And calls to Customer care go to the useless Bot. So I imagine that having tried to call me twice during lunch, Vodacom thinks it has disposed of the matter. And their business is communication!
