Vodacom's terrible and remarkably expensive service delivery ( Vodacom Brooklyn)
Dear fellow customers,
I would like to tell you a short and brief completely true story about my experience with Vodacom at two different branches first Vodacom Brooklyn and then Vodacom Menlyn (the repair centre). I bought a Samsung J4 from Vodacom Brooklyn in August, after one month it started overheating and automatically shutting down. I was in the Netherlands so this was particularly frustrating becuase I had to wait till when I was back to have it repaired.
So what happened? * I took it into brooklyn where they immediately started looking for 'scratches' (to blame it on me for dropping it or something) and then told me they have to book it in and send it to Potchefstroom?? (nevermind Menlyn repair centre in the same town). * First they sent my phone with the wrong contact number ( even though its on the system) did nothing for 3 weeks and told me that I never answered the quote. * No mention is ever made of replacing the phone that is on warranty. * We went back to Brooklyn and heard from a consultant that the owner of Vodacom Brooklyn owns the repair shop ion Potchefstroom as well.....need I say more? They get phones and he can direct any kind of assessment to make sure the customer is to blame. * The job card states 'water damage' which I knew was a lie, so I took it to an independent cellphone engineer and he said all phones have a little indicator at the back (with the cover off) that would be red and not white if there was water damage. Mine was white. * I lost it with Vodacom Brooklyn and their engineered thievery so I went to Vodacom Menlyn who said they will repair it for R2150 more expensive than a new one.
So what am I left with? * A broken phone I paid for in full. * Vodacom with noses and hands up in the air unwilling to deliver a service and unwilling to take responsibility for the vey products they sell. * A lot of stress and frustration
My advice to future customers 1. Do not visit Vodacom Brooklyn for any reason 2. No cellphone companies in South Africa are good but from what I have seen and heard Cell C is the most helpful. 3. Stay away from the samsung J4 the phone is trash.
May you hopefully be spared from this kind of experience.
