Vodacom’s strategy is to ***** money from customers - please be careful of this company!

On Saturday night, I received notification that I had 96MB data left. I connected to my husband’s hot spot for some time thereafter then on the WiFi provided at the hotel I have been staying at. I then went to bed and was horrified to find SMS’s from Vodacom from 1:00 a.m. until 3:00 a.m. saying I have used out of data bundle data worth of R2005. The SMS’s came minutes after each other and each minute the SMS’s came through they jumped from one amount to another (from R300 to R2005)...meaning that I was using as much as R500 out of data per minute. The strange thing is that i was sleeping and my apps do not download autimatically. I then made contact with their call center who are generally quite clueless. No one has been able to explain how I could have been billed for out of data bundle worth R2005 at a time I was sleeping. For months I have been suffering as a customer of this organisation and am desperate to get out! I have requested a quote to end the contract and they are quoting me R16000. So now I am sitting in a position where monthly I am being charged huge amounts for data I do not use and then trapped in a contract I no longer want to be in. If you are not with Vodacom - please do not think of signing up with them. They are a desperate company who make profits by *****ing from their customers. At this point I have requested details of their Head of Customer Service and Social Media - I will be surprised to get them since they are in the business of making excuses of things that don’t make sense and trapping customers in contracts they no longer want to be in. Once I am out I will never ever look back and use this company again. Despise them with a passion.
