Vodacom's shocking inability to resolve my simple issues with them. Part IV.
This is surreal ! I am already on "Part IV" ! Yet, the saga continues and my theory that "Vodacom creates a new problem for each solution they achieve" is clearly illustrated and proven by now.
After my last posting of "Vodacom's shocking inability to resolve my simple issues with them. Part III", on 27 September 2018, one of Vodacom Direct's Operators, Marlin, was great in his attempts to follow up and to keep me informed. Marlin called me last Friday morning, 28 September 2018, with the great news that all was clear and that I can continue with the intended upgrade at the Vodacom shop (Moffett-on-Main, Port Elizabeth).
The upgrade was being dealt with at the walk-in store and I was told that my new contract, Smart S+, would be activated on 01 October 2018, i.e. yesterday (Monday). By Monday morning I restarted my phone and everything seemed fine as I had data, free minutes and sms's as per the contract for the first time in a month ! However, the caller ID was not activated and I visited the shop where this was sorted.
To my horror I discovered at around 12:00 that all my allocations disappeared at once and I was suddenly (again ...) without the benefits of a contract which I pay good money for ! After restarting my new phone several times, I realized that Vodacom has once again messed up !
I've been to the shop this morning where a sim-sync was done. This did not resolve the problem. The operator further tested my new phone, but that proved to be in good working condition. So .... she had to log service request 1- ********** ********** , which is probably the 15th service request logged on my issue over the last 4 months ! Surely that must be some kind of a record ?
With reference to my previous Hellopeter postings, the issue with the refunding of the balance of an amount of R1 915.51 is still outstanding. The balance due to me remains R825.74.
I now have to insist that, once Vodacom has sorted the above issues, they provide me with a formal letter, signed by a senior manager, to confirm that they are aware and have finally sorted out all issues, namely: 1. That Vodacom has reversed the entire issue with and related to the ********** upgrade which has triggered all problems that followed; 2. That Vodacom has successfully instituted the upgrade and that all related systems are running well; 3. That Vodacom has refunded to me the outstanding amount of R825.74, being the outstanding balance of the amount of R1 915.51 which was deducted from my banking account without my permission.
