Vodacom's poor or rather zero customer service
As a long-term Vodacom customer, I’m extremely disappointed at how Vodacom is really *****ing me over now. On August 18 I received a call from one of Vodacom’ sales consultant offering me replacement contracts for 2 of my contracts because “they were coming to an end”. My mistake was believing him, believing that he’s information of my contracts is correct and accepting the contracts. However, when the SIMs and routers arrived, I decided to verify the status of all my current Vodacom contracts and that’s when I realised that the consultant ****, the 2 contracts he referred to were only coming to an end next year (2024) July. I immediately called Vodacom to collect the SIMs and routers, which is when my nightmare started. They claimed to have assigned Skynet deliveries for the collection and when days went by without hearing from either Vodacom nor Skynet, I called again and was told they will assign them again, 2nd time and no collection, I then called Skynet and they confirmed that no collection was assigned to them. Called Vodacom for the 3rd time and finally the lady I spoke to assigned the collection to @RAM, which was a breeze to deal with because within 2 days the came to collect the package and a day later I received an SMS from Vodacom that they had received the package back. Thereafter I called to have the contracts cancelled, but my struggle with Vodacom was not over. I had to call more than 3 times until some action was taken (that was only on the Sept 19th) and even then only one contract was cancelled and was told that even though the invoice shows R2072.37 my normal R1397.98 will be debited (lies again), come end of September I was debited R2072.37 which including the 2 contracts I didn’t have nor used. I called again on the 2nd of October which is when the other contract was cancelled and told the refund was initiated, but to my surprise when I checked my bill on the app it still included the 1 SIM. On the 4th of October I called the sales department again, whereby I was referred to the finance department and the lady I spoke to said she will escalate the issue and have the invoice updated form R1698.98 to the normal R1397.98, guess another Vodacom lie because today (October 12th 2023) my invoice is at R1881.80 because the even had the nerve to charge me R184 for “late” cancelation. Which late cancellation? They are too quick to charge/take customers money, but they haven’t even initiated my refund nor removed the contract from my account. Since this whole mess started, Vodacom owes me the following refund: R72.29 x2 debited 25th August + R818.97 debited 29th September and now with the current invoice seems another R484 will be added. I’ve called Vodacom more then 10 times within a period of 2.5 months and yet my issue is not resolved, which shows that customer service is a pipe dream at Vodacom and as a customer who’s been loyal to Vodacom for over 10 years, the only option is to patiently await the end of my contracts and then terminate/ not renew them. The lack of service I received is appalling and absurd. Called for the gazillion time today and awaiting another escallation, but the difference with today's call is that the lady who assisted promised to call be back by 2pm with feedback and she did, and promised to call again after 24 hours, i'm hopeful the issue will be resolved as she kept to her word.
