VODACOM's new customer retention plan - avoid assisting the customer at all costs!

It's a pity that as humans we only seem to voice the negative It is even more of a pity that raising your voice, making your complaint as public as possible, seems to be the only way of actually getting any response out of this so called customer centric company.

Perhaps Vodacom, you are too big for your own good, do you not care about client rentention anymore or is it common practice to just dupe people into signing new contracts via your preferred and utterly useless third party?

Scenario: I have been a data contract customer since 2015. Not once have I upgraded but aware it was due for an upgrade, who has times these days especially as a working mother who is studying at the same time? I receive a call advising me of this great data deal, given that Vodacom is aware of all their data usage issues - right? I say not right now as its bad timing call me in a month - they do. We go through the process, by which I am under the impression this is an upgrade, only to find out that NO - It's a new contract, and I now have 2 data contracts? Additionally when I call - wait for the joke, 'customer service' they give me incorrect information advising me that actually I have 3 differing Vodacom nuumbers, not the case, the woman was not getting my problem at all. Forcing me to go into a Vodacom shop. This I will say, the reps at V&A waterfront tried their utmost to assist me in a very professional matter, however - alas everything falls back to your preferred supplier - rendering them useless to me.

Said preferred supplier - for which I WISH knew the name admitted wrong doing after listening to the call backs and suggested I cancel, the contract that was due for renewal. Fine that is one answer but it is NOT what I as a paying customer wish to do dear Vodacom. In addition to that you make cancelling contracts a near impossible tasks... Maybe this is part of your customer retention plan??!!!

I have held on the phone for over 2 hours now trying to sort this out - not getting through to anyone may I add . Went back into Vodacome V&A Waterfront - again throwing a fit, again tried to assist me and yet here I sit in the exact same position almost a month later????

I have been promised a call back - No, who as a working mother with very little precious time has the ability to hold on a phone all day - go in and out of shops and still has NOTHING to show for it.

I want a solution

EC-1JE3-3UH8IP So called refernce number - I am still NOWHERE with this and now to make matters worse: Dear Vodacom Customer 'Please find attached an urgent notification from Vodacom.' (Its urgent for them) Apparently they did not receive my debit order - but it has come off my account, unless Vodacom wishes to double debit me which they are well known for too. WHEN IS SOMEONE GOING TO SORT THIS OUT?
