Vodacom's lack of fair treatment and unempathetic views towards their customers.
Never have I experienced a lack of empathy like this before. As a customer I have brought to the attention of this service provider the severe harassment I am experiencing. On a daily basis I am receiving up to 3-4 text messages and at times phone calls from a person advertising themselves as Global One Investment from Melmoth KZN. It is a ***** scheme of note and this group has somehow managed to get 500 people to be apart of this group.
So not only for my sake as a customer has Vodacom DONE NOTHING to help deal with this headache but are unprepared to help stop ******** activity in this country, the only advice is to open a police case. I wont even start with the SAPS who told me that unless I bring evidence of *****, sending me texts is not a crime (true as this may be - being nagged at 1am for money is harassment).
I have made numerous phone calls into the call center. Hours of my time spent waiting for help only to be told that I need to change my number as the one I am experiencing this issue with has been recycled (the previous owner had obviously fallen victim to this scheme and signed up now leaving me to deal with this). I transferred this contract over to Top Up option in one of these very conversations - as I am well aware of the horror stories associated to open line contracts. No one warned me that should I do this I will not be able to get a new number. Now I have to wait another 3 months before being transferred to an open line again, to deal with this number swap, to wait another 3 months of cautious use to avoid over using my line and being apart of said horror stories for another migration to TopUp.
Where is the concern? Where is your customer service/empathy? How do I help other people from falling victim to this disgusting behavior of fishing for money from hardworking individuals who may not know better?
I have reached a point that I will hand everything back and simply switch to a new service provider who will give me a second thought. I will not continue to pay to be harassed for one more second. I gave Vodacom ample opportunity to sort this mess out internally and privately with me. The fact that I have to resort to publicly announcing the terrible ways in which I have been dealt with is beyond embarrassing for myself and HOPEFULLY Vodacom will come to its senses and open an investigation into possible ******** activity.
