Vodacom's Incompetence Has Left Me Without a Device and Ruined My Credit!

I recently app**** for a Vodacom contract against my better judgment, and it has been an absolute nightmare from start to finish.

I initially wanted the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G 256GB Ice Blue on a top contract. However, when the agent called back, I was told that I was only approved for a Samsung Galaxy A25 128GB + 30GB at R269 per month. Even though this was not my first choice, I agreed to proceed—on one simple condition: that I could use my existing prepaid Vodacom number for the contract.

When the phone was delivered, I received an SMS with a new Vodacom number, something I never requested. I immediately contacted the call center to fix the issue, and after weeks of back and forth, the phone was finally collected, and the contract was canceled—even though the mistake was Vodacom’s!

To make matters worse, I warned Vodacom repeatedly that canceling this contract due to their error would negatively affect my credit score and contract application record. And guess what? That’s exactly what happened! Before this mess, I was approved for contracts with other service providers. Now, because of Vodacom’s incompetence, I am being declined everywhere, and I am left without a device and no way to get another contract until this nonsense is removed from my record—which could take months.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, Vodacom then sent me an invoice for a contract that shouldn’t even exist!

I demand that Vodacom:

Explain why my request to use my prepaid number was ignored. Remove the negative mark on my credit record immediately. Cancel and correct the invalid invoice I received. Take responsibility for this entire mess and provide a real solution. This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. Vodacom, fix this now!

I need this in writing - I was told that Zanele form HQ will call me back. But nothing, empty promises and this has been going on for months now and as you would expect i have zero faith in Vodacom. You have messed with my credit score and for you to just tell me the letter was sent in error in unacceptable. I need to speak to someone NOW. I have sent from pilar to post and have given empty promises since this entire mess started not not even a apology from Vodacom. I am still taking this up with the ombudsman. Each time i call I need to explain the entire situation to every call center agent and promises of management to call that never materialize.
