Vodacom's Incompetance
I was due for a contract upgrade and was tired of the poor service from Vodacom so I wanted to move to a new Telkom contract and needed to retain my mobile number. I was told to contact the Retentions dept at Vodacom by the Vodacom store consultant.
Call 1 Retentions dept 22 September 2018: I advised the consultant on what I wanted to do and she managed to match a better deal for me which was 200 minutes anytime and 5 GB of data anytime . When I received my device everything worked for the first few days until my mobile went into a complete lock down . I could not make calls and did not have data available to use.
Call 2 Customer care: Team advised that my airtime was used up and I needed to top up. I disagreed and indicated that I do not have an airtime contract but a minutes contract. They advised I needed to contact the retentions dept.
Call 3 Retentions dept 15 October 2018 : Explained my issues again and I asked for a copy of the contract they advised that they do not have one. I asked for the voice recording of the call. They advised someone will be in contact with me within 24 hrs. Nobody contacted me. I asked them to pick up the device as this is not the contract I signed up for. They told me someone from the courier company will contact me. Nobody contacted me.
Call 4 Retentions dept - 22 October : Explained my issues again to a consultant called Gideon or Giron , who appeared to be distracted and not sure how to assist with my issue. He kept on telling me that he can increase my data to 5 GB but cannot do anything on the minutes. I advised that this was not the contract I signed up for and if he cannot give me the contract I agreed upon I do not want this contract. He told me that he needs to chat to his supervisor and they will contact me within 24 hrs. Nobody has contacted my since. He also advised that he will email me the quotation for my contract - I have yet to receive this.
I am extremely frustrated with Vodacom and their pathetic service. I have not had a functioning phone for the past 3 weeks and I am being billed for it. I am putting myself and my family at risk as I am travelling without a working phone due to Vodacom's incompetence. They are more interested in sealing a deal and getting a commission on the sale regardless of whether its the right contract or not! Pathetic!
