VODACOM'S INACCESSIBILITY AND REFUSAL TO PROVIDE STATEMENTS
I am with Vodacom for almost 30 years. Had one of their top packages for many years. End of 2022 my business started struggling and I could not afford the expensive packages anymore, fell into arrears etc. During July/August 2023 I arranged with one of their collections agents to change the contract to pre-paid while I pay off the outstanding amount. During November 2023 my cell number was cancelled by Vodacom without any notice. I attempted contacting them via phone channels to no avail-my number was not recognised by the system. I visited a Vodacom Shop during Jan 2024 to sort out the issue, pay the final amount and get my number back. Vodacom customer care was very rude to the poor shop assistant and put the phone down in hear ear. After 1,5 hours on the line we managed to speak to one Jabu at collections. He told me I cannot get my number back ( which I still use on WhatsApp). This is where it gets interesting: My Vodacom App states I owe R6500. The Vodacom Shop printout states I owe R8200. When I attempted making an arrangement with Jabu, he told me I owe R13 000 (amounts are rounded off). I asked him to email me detailed statements which he refused. I asked to speak to a supervisor/ management and his reply was that he will ask that his supervisor calls me. Nobody has called me to date.
