Vodacom's ********** upgrade

A Vodacom call center agent who apparently phoned me on 7 October did an upgrade on both the cell phone numbers attached to my account, something which I never asked for! There must be a recorded message to justify this. I have never requested any upgrades and have never signed any new agreement so this is technically *****!

On 2 November I received an account for an upgrade to R340.56 for my phone and R221.48 for a second phone and in October upgrade fee of R149.00 had been charged on both numbers. I went to an MTN office with my account to sort out the matter, they that this was done on 07 October by Vodacom direct who had called me. I have never agreed to an upgrade or new contract and had not signed anything. The MTN office offered to call the Vodacom office whist I was there to sort out the matter, and I spoke to Nono. I explained the situation and she said the upgrade on both these numbers would be reversed and it would be done within 7-14 days. (Ref 1- ********** ********** ) Later I was called by someone from Vodacom to confirm that I wanted the upgrades cancelled and he said that they have had a lot of these lately and he would do it immediately and would send me an e-mail, which I never received. I then received an SMS to say the query has been closed, reference given 1- ********** ********** which was not the same ref number given by Nono. On 4 December, R562.04 was taken out of my account (R340.56+R221.48) which means that nothing was reversed as indicated and the upgrade was not cancelled. I went to Vodacom Woodlands on 05 December and account was checked, nothing changed and they advised that my query had been cancelled on 20 November and the upgrades were not cancelled and they logged a new fault with ref number 1- ********** ********** . I then phoned Vodacom call centre on 06 December, approximately 10:26 and spoke to Sinah. I explained everything to her again, and was advised that she would escalate the problem, got this ref nbr 1- ********** ********** , she said she would go to her supervisor/manager and would call me back, I haven’t heard from her!

Reviewer Update
Replace the MTN wording with Vodacom in this article, it was written by an MTN user who made the mistake.
