Vodacom's faulty contract cancellation process

In the year 2020, I entered into a contract with Vodacom and was advised in 2022 to terminate my contract promptly; which I proceeded to do. Subsequently, they continued to debit my account, prompting me to question these charges as I believed them to be an error on Vodacom's part. Eventually, the debits ceased, but my account was placed in arrears without my acknowledgment (I was under the impression that my account had been cancelled as per the advice given) and subsequently entered a legal status. I then submitted all necessary evidence to resolve my issue and received a settlement letter, along with a promise that my bureau profile would be restored to its previous state prior to the issue. Now, in the year 2026, I decided to re-establish myself as a customer, only to discover that I was blocked due to my account being in arrears—the same account for which I possess a legal letter from Vodacom confirming its resolution. This situation is incredibly frustrating, as I had intended to return as a customer, but the manner in which I am being treated is quite troublesome. When I attempted to contact the legal department to address my issue, I was asked for a reference number (which I do not recall), and there were no alternative options provided aside from the number. I was then instructed by the automated system to call back once I had the number... what exceptional customer service they provide!
