Vodacom's Disgusting and Repugnant Fiber Service
In this challenging times a person would like to write positive reviews, but my experience with Vodacom Fiber has made it impossible to do so. Since they installed the fiber 11 October 2021 I was never satisfied with the download and upload speed. Download speed is supposed to be 20Mbps and upload 10mbps but it fluctuates most of the time between 10Mbps and 5Mbps. My signed contract is for 20Mbps and 10Mbps. I am paying for more than what I am receiving. This is called thieving in other situations, but not when Vodacom fails to deliver and charge for what you did not receive.
This results in slow up load and down load speed and you are unable to have more than one TV on. I made more than 20 calls and wasted hours on the phone and sending emails and snap shots of the poor speed readings on my Google app. The problem is I am receiving half of what I am paying for. It took more than a month for them to send a Vumatel technician to come and test the signal and he reported to them that the problem is on Vodacom side, but nothing has happened since then. I am calling them almost on a daily basis. Currently (02. 12. 21) I have no signal and my afternoon call has resulted in absolutely nothing, It is impossible to speak to a manager. You hold onto the line until it cuts off and they would not call you back on the dropped line although I was promised they would incase the call drops. I requested a cancellation based on their failure on being in bridge of the signed contract, but it will result in me being charged a cancellation fee. I can go on and on, but the bottom line is that in spite of all the problems they are having with unsatisfied customers they are daily signing up ******** people like us because everything looks good on paper until you signed the contract and the person that sold you the contract is impossible to find. I hope that I am able to high light a problem that will help someone not to sign up with Vodacom. I signed up with them because of convenience due to the fact that my cellphone contracts are with them. Well tomorrow is another day to continue finding a way out of the *********** maze.
Since Vodacom decided that the best way to deal with an unhappy consumer is to cancel their service, I am stuck with a Vodacom locked router that I had to pay for and have no idea if the router is faulty and the cause of all the problems. Vodacom never sent a technician to assess what the problem was.
It is a shame when going public with a poor service delivery compliant does not motivate Vodacom's consumer team to do better.
I'm waiting in anticipation for the outcome of the forwarded correspondence.
