On Thursday evening (Fibre Specialist) Keaton Benjamin approached us at my house with regards to a Fibre special that Vodacom was running and asked if I would be interested, I then proceeded to tell him that I currently have fibre with Vox and don't have any problems with them,, he then proceeded to say that we can save money with this special, I said he was welcome to take my details and email me the necessary info. He then took my details as well as my I.D then asked for my banking details which I was not comfortable with and asked if I may take a photo of his name tag as well as his drivers licence, which I did. I said that I wasn't comfortable with giving him my banking details, to which he rep**** (its purely to send it to Vodacom to see if I qualify or not) I asked him on 3 occasions if he was sure that I was not accepting any deal and that I won't be debited for anything, to which he rep**** (No not at all, if Vodacom approves me then I will receive an email, which I need to either except or decline)
To my surprise I received an sms from Ram Couriers that they want to deliver the Router, I then contacted Vodacom on Saturday and spoke to a consultant who confirmed that I did indeed have a new contract with Vodacom for fibre, I id not agree to this and am highly upset that this gentleman **** to my face by saying that this was purely the process and that I was not binding myself to anything. The fact that business is conducted in this way is disturbing,, how many other people have been caught out this way. After contacting Vodacom about this on Monday I was told I would received a confirmation email for cancellation....I'm still waiting and in the mean time technician has phone me to come install the fibre line. This is absolutely pathetic of Vodacom. I have been on the phone with the call center for almost an hour and still not able to speak to anyone.
