Vodacom...most frustrating experience ever!!

I have received a draft summons letter from Vodacom dated 2022/12/20, with a total amount due of R10 439,12. This is absolutely ridiculous as I AM NOT A VODACOM CUSTOMER and after the experience I had this year with Vodacom I NEVER WILL BE!! At the end of June 2022, I made the mistake of doing an online application for a Red 500MB 50Min contract with an iPhone 11 64GB. I wanted to port from MTN prepaid to Vodacom and keep my old number. I did everything with Vodacom Online and stated that I wanted to keep my number. Vodacom online delivered the new device and gave me a new number. That is not what I requested. I made numerous phone calls to Vodacom call centers and even visited two Vodacom branches (Menlyn and Woodlands) for assistance with porting the number. They all advised that there is no way to assist me with this and the only thing left to do would be to cancel the contract and return the phone and open a new account where I can request to keep my old number again. The device was finally picked up on Monday 18 July. I didn't receive any communication, but luckily I was able to return the device successfully. On Wednesday 20 July I phoned the after sales number to cancel the contract. The person couldn't finalise the cancellation because of an outstanding balance of R1,47. I am not sure where this amount came from as the contract wasn't used, except to phone Vodacom and trying to solve all the issues. They said that they have escalated the matter and that we should receive an SMS as confirmation that the contract has been cancelled. On Monday 25 July I phoned after sales once again as I have not received the cancellation confirmation. They advised that the contract has now been cancelled and that we do not need to make any further payments, and everything has been resolved. We asked for a confirmation and was advised that we would receive this confirmation by the end. TO THIS DAY I AM STILL WAITING FOR THAT COFIRMATION, I guess that it hasn’t been sent yet because Vodacom is still trying to make money from me by delivering zero services. When I received the summons letter in December, I once again had to waste my time going to a Vodacom store as I know from experience that the Vodacom call centers will just be wasting your airtime. The extremely helpful staff at the Woodlands Vodashop tried everything, but we were put through from one department to another and after half an hour on the phone I decided to give up. On the system it shows that the contract was cancelled in July – I NEED A CONFIRMATION LETTER THAT I DO NOT NEED TO MAKE ANY FURTHER PAYMENTS TO VODACOM AS I AM NOT A VODACOM CLIENT AND I DO NOT HAVE A CONTRACT WITH VODACOM!!!! No-one at Vodacom can provide me with such a confirmation as it is one excuse after the other.
