Vodacom..is there anyone out there - I would appreciate some assistance please ?
This past weekend, I wrote a review about the service I receive/d from Vodacom. To date, I have had no response from Vodacom except say that one of their representatives would contact me "shortly"?..... I signed a 24-month data contract and bought a "pocket-size" modem at the same time. Six (6) months ago, I got a new pocket-size modem as the old one for some unknown reason, started giving "connection problems". About two (2) weeks ago, after all the Eskom power outages, the modem started "over-heating" and according to the various people I spoke to at different Vodacom outlets, could "explode" at any time. Since the modem is still under warranty, I asked if they could exchange it for a new modem? They informed me that I would have to travel "halfway" around the world to a particular "service shop" in Somerset West to have a look at it to determine if the modem hadn't been "abused" before they would decide on any action. I have been with Vodacom since its launch in the early 1990s, and have occasionally had simply "too many" customer-related problems to date. This is just another one of those incidents where I feel Vodacom simply doesn't care about its customers, especially those who have been loyal for "ages". Perhaps it's time to move on and say "goodbye" to Vodacom. Their deals, tariffs, and especially customer service are letting it down "Big-time"! Their representatives are also not doing them any favors either. At the last outlet I visited in Somerset Mall, there were only three individuals ahead of me. With three people attending to customers, I stood there for 55 minutes, before one lady eventually looked up at me, and with a lazy attitude, asked if she might assist me?! Wow, that is, it! With an attitude like that, and generally a complete lack of customer care and service, I think someone somewhere in Vodacom, needs to note what is going on and get their "house in order" if they still want to be a role-player in the cellular service environment in our high-paced, demanding world.
