During the month of July,I got a call from "Vodacom Upgrades" asking me if I would like to migrate my numbers and pay less on my current bill. I agreed, yes based on the fact that the call centre agent gave me the assurance that if I did the migration my bill would go down a few hundred rands. He even confirmed the amount I would pay and I was happy but little did I know that this was the Worst idea ever. On 28/07/24 I went to the Vodacom4U store in Trade Route mall to do and upgrade on one of my lines and to my horror the sales lady picked up that since all my numbers were being migrated I would be paying significantly more on all my lines. After doing a few calculations they picked up that my August debit order would be about R2356 more than I would normally pay.Imagine the implications if I had a debit order go through for almost R5000 on my account!! They explained that the company that does the upgrades for Vodacom ,CoActivate (which was not the name on the caller ID when they called me) was responsible for the mess. Since the migration was still pending on the system they helped me to cancel it and eventually do my upgrade, however my problem is that when the sales lady called the first time the call centre agents told them they can't do to the cancellation it has to go through first, but this would mean that I would be liable for all payments as per the migration contract I agreed to,another LIE. The sales ladies called head office to do the cancellation but after about an hour and a half of struggling to get this sorted out we got to a manager and they did it in a few minutes, after the first call centre agent **** to us that it couldn't be done. If it was not for Charmaine and her colleague I would have been liable to pay for something which was sold to me on a LIE. The Vodacom4U ladies said it's not the first time this has happened to their customers and they have been escalating the matter but Vodacom is not taking the matter seriously and they are losing customers because of things like this. I have been a Vodacom customer for 20 years and this was the horrible experience I had to go through. If Vodacom does not rethink their their affiliation or whatever you call it with CoActivate they are definitely going to lose customers. Your agents are ****S,to the expense of your customers. Also,I would never have agreed to the migration if I knew that it wasn't Vodacom Upgrades who was calling me. So that in itself is also highly misleading. Why would the callee ID show as "Vodacom Upgrades" but the company calling me is CoActivate?????
