Vodacom - Zero Value!!!!!

I am very irritated and frustrated.

In May 2019 a service ticket was logged with reference to almost no cell connectivity in Linbro Park A.H. (ticket number A-2-FH4A-END-1R6. I was informed that the cell towers in the area were marked for upgrading at the end of 2019. To date nothing has occurred.

Generally the signal strength is 2 bars on my cell!! Would you settle for this level of service? During electrical outages there is no signal to speak of so how am I to contact anyone during this period? Vodacom's “footprint” coverage shows proper exposure and this is definitely not true in my case.

I went to the Vodacom shop in Greenstone to log a complaint. The staff were not helpful at all!!! All they wanted to do was sell me SIM cards and boosters. And needless to say they didn’t log the complaint. Eventually I left the store and went to another service provider where I bought a ****le and data bundle which I required as I was working from home at the time and worked like a dream.

Last night (2019/11/20) when I got home (approximately 16h30) there was absolutely no connectivity via cell, wireless or my work laptop SIM card and there was still no single when I left home. I had work that had to be distributed last night and this didn’t happen. I also use my cell to request Uber rides and this was not possible this morning (2019/11/21) and I had to utilise a wireless signal (which showed only 2 bars and the signal kept getting dropped).

Vodacom's *135# is an automated system and doesn’t allow for customers to speak to an agent with no option to file a complaint.

I have been a Vodacom customer for many years (+20 years) both contract and pay-as-you-go and have found that during the last 2 – 3 years their service level quality has definitely declined.

I am a member of the Linbro Park Community WhatsApp group and many of the members have complained about the Vodacom signal strength in the area. Several of the community members have moved over to other service providers and this is my intention should this matter not be resolved urgently, particularly as it is now affecting my earnings. What would have happened should I have needed to contact someone in an emergency? Totally unacceptable!!!!!!
