Vodacom, you have been DEAD in Prince Albert for almost 40 hours!!!!
It has been more than two days that an entire region in the Karoo has been without Vodacom coverage. Prince Albert and as far as I know, Leeugamka are affected. Some people couldn't buy prepaid electricity over an extremely hot weekend and had to go without. To add insult to injury, people have been trying to report this since Sunday morning, one man even driving to Oudtshoorn for connectivity. Most were stonewalled with a you-have-to-provide -numbers-of-five-people-with similar-issues approach. Others were told that Vodacom isn't aware of any problems. Yet another person was told it was Telkom's issue, which it wasn't. Someone was told they were working on the problem yesterday (Monday) because they didn't work on weekends. By late yesterday morning, the queues for electricity at the municipality were almost round the block. We have now been without.connectivity for more than 36 hours. I have to drive to a coffee shop to access my messages. It is bad enough for something like this to happen. But for a company to be this incapable of finding out that their coverage in an entire REGION has been down for DAYS, and to treat the hapless clients who try to report it like complete imbeciles (because back home at Vodacom it's obvious that the one hand has no clue what the other is doing) is even worse. As soon as I am out of my contract with this ruthless, inefficient, rude bunch, I will be changing service providers. Sad, that. I have been with Vodacom for more than 20 years. They don't deserve one cent of my money. SHAME ON YOU, Vodacom!
