Vodacom would let a ********** port take place

I am highly frustrated and disappointed in Vodacom. I received an sms yesterday telling me my number had been ported by Vodacom. I was untrusting of the sms sent and decided to call Vodacom customer care instead of the number noted on the message received. I spoke to Unathi who advised that it would be logged however could not give me a turn around time as to when my query would be attended to. Later in the evening, my contacts started receiving WhatsApp messages requesting an e-wallet of R 2000 be sent to my phone number. I called Vodacom in the morning to query what had happened to my call from the night before. I was told from the number porting division (Immaculate is the consultant I spoke to) and was advised I did not call the correct division and that there is nothing that they could do and that I would have to call MTN (where my number had been ported to). I started to feel extremely angry(she was blunt and unsympathetic to my plight). I hung up on her. I called MTN after my sister having told me she called my number and that it was an MTN ringtone with Voicemail Lite options. I was assisted and alerted that the number has been ported back to Vodacom and that I would have to call Vodacom back to check their systems to verify this and to accept the port-back. I feel all of this could have been avoiding as I did call Vodacom(irrespective of the department) and reported this ********** activity. some of my contacts have since paid this individual under the guise that it was from me (requesting money). Who pays my contacts back. I am not sure why I need to port back to Vodacom as I have been treated so purely but like a loyal customer, here I am requesting assistance. I have no contact with the outside world (for 2 hours I am told, I am without any telephone contact), I have lost the trust and respect of my friends and colleagues (as they think I go around asking for money) and no-one at Vodacom is accountable it seems. If nothing is done about this, I will have no option but to contact the media about this distrustful relationship that we, the consumer has with Vodacom ( our "trusted service provider")
