Vodacom won’t release ONT after cancellation

I recently moved into a new home where the previous owners had a Fibre Line with Vodacom.

The previous owners cancelled their service as of the 31 January 2021. As of the 1 February the internet wasn’t working. I had called my service provider to connect my fibre in the home and was told they are unable to do that because Vodacom hasn’t released the line... so I call Vodacom and they told me that despite the previous owners cancelling the service they didn’t tell them to release the ONT ?????

So despite them cancelling the service they refuse to release the line and I’m told their standard procedure could take 7 days before they release the line. I asked to speak to a manager who apparently wasn’t available. The person assisting me wouldn’t even respond to my questions or me asking for a solution he just sat there silently offering me nothing. No apology for the inconvenience, didn’t even remotely try resolve the problem he was utterly useless! Honestly Vodacom has the worst service in the history of time!

Vodacom in the midst of a pandemic where we are all So reliant on working virtually from home - decides they are going to be completely *********** and hinder me from being able to work!

It’s ridiculous! No one ever should sign up with Vodacom!
