Vodacom wont provide requested voice recording

In mid-December I disputed an account I received from vodacom. After back and forth calls to try and get to someone who could help me, I wrote a review here and finally got hold of someone whom i thought to be competent, friendly and even kind. Felicia is her name. I insisted - and still do now - to hear the call recording of when I agreed to an open line for my new phone. Turns out they can't send it to you - convenient for them that only THEY have the equipment to listen those - and I had to agree on a date to go to a vodacom shop to go listen to the recording in question. I am a waiter and my days were booked up with shifts so my first date I could travel the 57 kms to Herm**** where the closest such shop is, was the 6th of January 2022. FELICIA assured me that I need only ask for the recording at the shop where they would then play it for me.

When I got to the shop at the Whalecoast Mall in Herm**** at about e 10am. The sales person there found NO case open on the number in question. The number was still fully active. According to the person, no limit had been placed on the line to avoid further charges, no correspondence or notice or VOICE recording. Nada!!! The sales guy spoke to a multitude of people at vodacom to try find the recording for me. In the end he was told a manager would call me round 13:00. That was on the 6th and I'm still waiting.

Felicia had not done her job. In my previous Hellopeter review of Hellopeter, I said that I want to solve the matter amicably but Vodacom has made no effort - despite mine of committing to a date and showing up on the date - to do anything at all. I guess they spell amicable S U M M O N S.

In a response I wrote to a response they had sent me on Hellopeter, I even complimented Felicia on the traits which I had wrongly read she has/d - I WITHDRAW all of what I said about her and her competence, efficiency. She is as insufficient as all the rest. What I describe here above, stays. Vodacom was very clever in getting her to call me concerning the matter as she had been the sales person whom I spoke to to get the new line. In restrospect I could swear that she was trying to steer me away from the voice recording request instead, getting me to agree that I had okey-d and open line.

I did everything I could to try settle this and you have acted only in bad faith from beginning until the end. You know full well Vodacom that you have to supply a person with a voice recording upon request. You will not receive more that the R2200 we have to pay you per month. They will not get another cent out of me because I never ever agreed to an open line. EVER. We do not do open lines an I would'nt have agreed to one under any circumstances. I consider this matter closed. No one ever called.

Hey you bunch of ******* and *****. You will see that I called your Collections department yesterday and arranged payment of the amount I dispute. The arrangement is in NO WAY ADMISSION THAT I AGREED TO AN OPEN LINE! You and Felisha Naicker specifically, made sure that I don't get the recording and it is quite pathetic the way she tried to lie herself out of her **** up by changing dates in her email to me. Shameless. When I go to Herm**** next time, I am going to go to the Vodacom store AGAIN and I want to hear that recording so don't just yet delete it, ne?

I do want to tell you who is losing most because of your company's dishonesty policy. I had to get the money from somewhere, right? I sponsor a 14 year old boy in Venda whom I got to know when his father lived and worked on a farm where I lived, in the past. I started looking after Jasper when he was four and made sure that he went to school 30km's away, every single morning. The first year I took him and his best friend Emma to the bus every morning and+ picked them up every afternoon. He learned to speak English from my mom, my dad and I and using my phone and PC.

When we had to move away from the farm in Limpopo to where we are no in the western cape, Jasper stayed behind - his family is there and I had no right to even ask if he could come with. We were both devastated but there was no other way out. Since leaving 4 years ago, I have every month sent R3000 to his mom, for her to take care of him. When he needs something for school or soccer, I try to send the money. He doesnt ask often - he knows that I struggle with money now that I'm a waiter.

At the beginning of each year, he gets school clothes, new bag (if needed), school shoes etc. Something he is always very proud of. I used to be proud of being able to take care of him. This year it didnt happen. He went to school with old clothes and possibly no shoes which is downright embarrassing and degrading.

In March of last year, he let me know his phone was broken - it is hard world where he lives and the phone had lasted longer than I'd expected. Over the years he always got my old one when I upgraded and when my dad passed away, I gave him my dad's. He stayed without a phone for some months until I decided that I should get a new phone so I could send him my S9+ and so I called Vodacom Sales...

Now you see I wouldnt have agreed to an open line for Jasper. I always sent him airtime or data - or rather my mom did as I no longer can afford it - and that arrangement worked well. We all know horror stories about people who give other people open lines or people who use their phones roaming and end up having to pay more than their vacation paid on arrival back in SA. That is why I categorically deny ever having agreed to an open line. When I sent Jasper the old phone - under the impression that it was a Top Up number like my mom's and mine - I told him that there will be probably 500MB on the phone beginning every month and that would be it. We would continue with sending of airtime. I did find it strange that he didnt ask for airtime any longer but I supposed that his mother had found a job or some income selling chickens again. Until I saw on my mom's bank account that you had tried to debit my mom's account with over 5000. Then I had to start my communication with you because I thought it had to be a mistake.

The only way for me to pay the R1720.05 per month for the next 6 months to pay you, is to take it off of the R3000 I send him every month. Not to punish him although he will most likely think that is what I'm doing, but to pay Vodacom so it doesnt collapse and because I have no other source to get it from. You have NO idea what difference R1720.05 makes when you already live way below the breadline. You are taking food out of a child's mouth. If there was any way for me to do it differently, I wouldve but there simply isnt. I know you dont care. That is why you hire bullies to work for you. You scheme, you bully, you lie, you withhold recordings I am by law entitled to have and believe me the latter I will look into because most certainly you must be breaking the law by refusing to supply me with a recording. So there you are Vodacom. I hate the fact that I have to hold by this contract with you and will be very much relieved once it is done and dusted. Sies
