VODACOM WON'T LET YOU CANCELATION A CONTRACT

My mother called on 22nd May 2020 and spoke to Renee or Renelle to cancel the contract. In their our conversation she told her about reducing the monthly premium to R39. 00 to reserve the number and that I will receive Airtime on monthly basis to the amount of R65.00. She further insisted that it is cheaper and tbat if she don't take the offer my number is going to be given to somebody else and to get another one is costly and also she said should my mother wish to cancel that she can within 14 working days. Hence Monday the 25th May 2020 my mother called and spoke to Timara who said Renee was busy on another line and she can not assist she will escalate the message by email to Renee because she was the one who initiated and my mother will receive an SMS and email from VODACOM confirming the cancelation and further Timara advised that should my mother not receive an SMS she is free to call again because they are short staffed due to COVID 19. During the day seeing that there wasn't any news about the cancelation my mother called again and at that time spoke to Precious who also said she wil send a message to Renee but still no SMS of cancelation was received but instead she received the Order and quotation numbers. My mother called on Friday 29th May 2020 and spoke to another Precious Cele who said she was reversing that and my mother will receive the confirmation on Monday 1 June 2020. Instead of receiving the cancelation or reversing she received the message from VODACOM yesterday saying her upgrade is until 29th May 2022 and the AIRTIME to the amount of R 65.00. Today she went to the VODACOM store at Vanderbijilpark but was told to call the Call Center number *** or 082 135. Then she called *** and spoke to Jerome who indicated that he is reversing as per her request and she will receive response from VODACOM within 24 to 48hrs. In the meantime she will receive SMS that will indicate that the request is been received within 2 minutes but till now there is nothing. Instead another message saying the upgrade is until 29th May 2022. All the consultants she spoke to refused to give her a reference number claiming that because the matter is an open case therefore a reference cannot be given. Bull****, they just won't let her cancel so they are giving her the run arounds to exhaust the 14 day window period to cancel. I highly recommend not taking up any contract with Vodacom, they exploit people and their consultants are very dishonest chasing to make a sale on the expense of the livelihoods of others. Highly disgusting by your bull**** service.

We have since been waiting to receive a call from Vodacom and still they have not called. Seeing that she was receiving no call or SMS my mother called Vodacom and spoke to Tarryn who confirmed that the request to cancel was never done which is why Precious Cele was refusing to provide her with a reference number. Tarryn escalated the matter to their Solution Experts and assured my mother that the matter will be attended to within 3 working days. Ref no.***. I still strongly advise against taking up a contract with Vodacom. For your peace of mind avoid Vodacom, they exploit people.
