Vodacom won't fix my new iPhone

I took my new iPhone 6 to Vodacom Repairs Sandton on 13 April 2015. I advised them that the cause of the fault was liquid damage, which was duly noted on the job card. Update SMS's were received until 22 April 2015. When I heard nothing, I decided to call on 04 May 2015 to find out what the hold up is. I was told that the phone is liquid damaged, which I stated upfront when I booked the phone in...so no surprises there. During the call I was asked whether I was insured and that I should perhaps look to claim under my policy. When I made it clear that this was not an option (as it would put me a few thousands out of pocket), I was told that I should perhaps consider taking my phone to an independent repair shop (specifically iFix in Melrose Arch). So if there are independent repairers out there who can fix such water/liquid damage, why is it that Vodacom does not want to fix my iPhone?? <br> Is this another case of a BIG mobile giant *********** the man on the street. The Vodacom way of 'Speed, Simplicity & Trust' has not been demostrated here...But who cares about the consumer, as long the shareholders & management are getting paid right? 'Power To You' Vodacom.
