11 Nov 2025, 07:55After more than 30 years of loyalty to Vodacom, with multiple numbers under my name, simce 17 October 2025 I can honestly say this is the worst service experience I have ever had not just with Vodacom, but with any service provider
I received an SMS saying there was an unsuccessful delivery of my new upgrade device (Order K***). When I called Vodacom’s call centre to find out what happened, I was given nothing but the run-around. The consultant bombarded me with irrelevant “verification” questions like what package I’m on something I don’t need to check every month because I’ve been on the same Red package for years, HOWEVER I explained that my the upgraded device was not delivered as the couriers claimed there is a Thembi on the document and they don’t want my id but Thembi’s.
Instead of helping me, the consultant told me to go find the information myself and call back. I was stunned. This is not customer service this is customer neglect.
I then lodged a complaint under reference 312ef550-5e9b4c37, and was promised a supervisor would call me back. That call never came. No acknowledgment. No update. No apology. Just complete silence.
I’ve since reached out to multiple Vodacom departments including the company secretary and media liaison and not one person has had the decency to respond. After more than three decades of loyalty, it’s clear Vodacom doesn’t value its long-term customers.
At the very least, I expected basic respect and common decency but clearly, customer care is not a priority at Vodacom anymore.
It’s truly shocking that a company of Vodacom’s size and reputation can treat loyal customers with such disregard. If this is how Vodacom handles its loyal clients, I can only imagine what new customers must endure.
This entire experience has left me frustrated, disappointed, and strongly considering taking all my business elsewhere and making sure others know exactly what to expect from Vodacom.

Review:
I am now beyond shocked and frustrated with Vodacom’s handling of my upgrade issue. After over 30 years of loyalty and multiple numbers under my account, I have never experienced such disrespect, incompetence, and complete lack of accountability.
Today I received a call from a Vodacom “Customer Care” agent, Grace Mahlangu (Ref: EC-21UU-10N23T). Instead of resolving my complaint, she misrepresented the facts and demonstrated that she had not even read my original complaint.
She claimed my device could not be delivered because I supposedly “could not produce my ID.”
This is completely untrue.
This is completely untrue.
Here are the REAL facts:
- I did present my ID.
- The courier arrived to deliver a device under the name “Thembi.”
- I was expected to provide Thembi’s ID, which is impossible.
- This mix-up was caused entirely by Vodacom sending the courier with the wrong name, not by me.
To make matters worse, I was then told that the case is now closed, and I must start the entire upgrade process again as though I made the error. Why must I start the process over for a mistake Vodacom made? Vodacom created the problem.
Vodacom inconvenienced me.
Vodacom failed to follow up.
Yet I am expected to fix it by doing everything again? This is not customer care this is customer punishment. My original complaint (Ref: 312ef550-5e9b4c37) was also ignored. I was promised a supervisor call that never happened. I’ve reached out to multiple Vodacom departments with no acknowledgement, no accountability, and no resolution. It is unbelievable that a company of Vodacom’s size takes NO responsibility for its own errors and forces a loyal customer to suffer because of their internal incompetence. I will continue escalating this publicly until someone at Vodacom actually takes ownership of this situation. References:
