Vodacom wifi services is pathetic
In April 2020 Vodacom had a special on wifi (8/2mb line + free installation + free router + unthrottled date + month to month (no contract) + the first 2 months for free and you get a ****le with 400GB while you wait for the fibre installation. All of this for R549pm
We app**** and the ****le was delivered within a few days. We couldn't use it as it was not activated. The next day Vuma arrived and installed the fibre. On 1 June 2020 an amount of R580 was deducted. We called Vodacom's call centre and they told us that there was a pro rata amount. We were under the impression that we will only start paying in July 2020 as the first 2 months was free but it didn't bother us.
On 1 July 2020 an amount of R1825.35 was deducted. After numerous calls and more than R700 airtime later, we were told that Vodacom made a mistake. They had to credit us with R1276.35, because we didn't use the 400GB on the ****le. So the system deducted R1276.35 + R549 (our installment) = R1825.35. They said that they will credit the R1276.35 and that they will use it for the payment of August and September 2020 and our next debit order will only be deducted on 1 October 2020 and the amount that will be deducted is R549. We were also told that the special wasn't loaded onto the system and that is why the system get's confused. They assured us that the problem will be solved and that from 1 October 2020 our installments will be R549 pm.
August and September went by and they didn't deduct anything. On 7 September 2020 we received a statement with an amount of R1090.37. We also received a credit note (credit note nr: VB/C073561) with the amount of R1276.35 and an invoice (inv nr: (VB/J7738B) with the installment amount of R549 which is due on 1 October 2020. We also received an email saying 'case closed'.
On 1 October 2020 an amount of R1090.37 was deducted (the amount on the statement and not on the invoice). We called again and wanted to know how much it will be to cancel the wifi as we are seriously fedup with their service and the issue will NEVER be solved. They told us that they can't see on the system how much it will be to cancel it???? How is this possible?? We spoke to the manager at the call centre. We spoke to her in July as well when we called and she remembered us. She said that she can't understand why the issue wasn't solved yet and that some of the people in the call centre didn't do their work and that she will follow up on who's working with the case and there will be steps taking and she will give us feedback (nothing happened). Her advice for October's payment was to reverse the money at the bank and EFT the amount at any Vodacom branch. We reversed the debit order at the bank and went into Vodacom to EFT the installment.
On 1 November 2020 R1090.37 was deducted again - and we had to go to the bank again, reverse the debit order and go to Vodacom to EFT the installment. We asked the branch if they can move the payment option from debit order to EFT and they told us no we will have to call Vodacom's wifi department and ask them to send us a billing form. We went to another Vodacom branch and they told us the same thing. We called them and asked to sent us a billing form to change the payment method. It is almost a month later and we are still waiting. We also made follow up calls but we are still waiting. One of the call centre agents suggested that we go to any Vodacom branch and get the billing forms there. We tried 2 branches. They said that they do not deal with the wifi department's forms and that we have to call the wifi department and request that they email it (which we did).
On 1 December 2020 an amount of R989 was deducted. Now we need to go to the bank yet again and go to Vodacom to EFT the installment. From June 2020 until now, we have spent more than R1000 airtime trying to sort out the issue. We are getting absolutely no where with Vodacom. We also spent hundreds of rand's on banking fee's to reverse the debit order every month. I will NOT recommend Vodacom's wifi to anyone. Their service is absolutely pathetic. It has been 8 months of hell and the issue is still there. We just need a billing form to change from debit order to EFT - that's it. If we can't change it from debit order to EFT, then we want to cancel it as we are tired struggling with this every month. We want to know how much it will cost us to cancel it. Don't tell us that you can't see how much it will be on the system - you're lying. Please think before getting Vodacom's wifi.
So we still need to go into the bank and reverse the debit order and go into Vodacom to pay the installment. We are paying a fee to reverse this at the bank every month. This is what we need to go through since July 2020. This issue will never be solve as they are probably working from home during this time and we don't mean anything. They don't do their job. How hard can it be just to rectify the debit order amount? It it too much to ask for? Is it too much work? What is your problem??? Or just to send us a billing form to change the debit order to EFT. We asked Vodacom to send us a billing form in November 2020 and we are still waiting for the email that was promised - it's just pathetic.
We went into a few Vodacom branches to ask for a billing form and to ask if we can change the payment method to EFT. They all said that they don't work with the wifi department and that we need to call the call centre and request a form from them. Last year when we called we were told that we can get the form from one of the branches but this was obviously not true. Can you please solve the problem ASAP as we are furious with the poor and pathetic service at Vodacom's wifi department. It is ridiculous and I will never recommend it to any one.
