Vodacom | Watch Out for *****
Vodacom allows people to open accounts in your name without checking who they are or verifying their identity.
I have had a *****ulent account opened in my name, and they cannot produce a contract or any evidence to support the fact that I am liable for the debt.
They have also got a company called MBD chasing their debt who don't seem to have the inclination or ability to take notes. They harass me two to three times a day regardless of being told that I have not got a Vodacom account.
Vodacom and this useless agency keep telling me to go get an affidavit stating that I do not have an account with them, but surely the onus is on them to prove that I do have an account first? I do not work for Vodacom and do not see why I should have to drive around getting affidavits and copies of my ID to rectify this situation.
I'd also like to know how it is that they have allowed a debt to get up to R21k when it wasn't paid? Surely services are cut off at some point?
When I asked for the contract the call centre agent told me it had been deleted due to non-payment. What the heck is that all about? Surely if somebody owes you money you would KEEP the proof of that debt?
The call centre staff at both the collection agency and vodacom are junior and unable to deal with any of this. They have no idea how to answer my questions, they are only able to 'apologise for the inconvenience'.
Truly useless from start to finish.
