Vodacom - Waste of time
Good day Vodacom,
On 6 May 2023, I did an update for one of my 3 numbers ***. The earliest I could upgrade for this number was 2023-02-13. I did the upgrade by myself, online.
My main number and the number I use is ***. The earliest upgrade date for this number was 2025-02-28. Screenshots attached from the Vodacom whatsapp line where I checked my upgrade dates.
This morning, 31 May 2023, I received numerous SMS's saying that the upgrade on my line was completed and the new contract details, etc.
Is it Vodacom policy to allow upgrades not yet due? because the upgrade was effective on a line that is not due for upgrade.
I called Vodacom on 082 135 this morning at 7:12am and was told by the lovely Noma who assisted, that upgrades for additional lines cannot be done only and needs to be done in store. I was taken aback, as I was never told this at any point, because prior to upgrading online, I did speak to someone over the phone, he never mentioned it, apart from that, when I did the upgrade, I was asked to put in the number I am upgrading and then proceed with upgrade (you know how your system works), so at that point I put in *** and because it was a line I was not using, I then clicked the block below, indicting that the number cannot receive SMS, so the OTP was sent to my main number ***. Through all of this, there were no warning signs that upgrading for *** online, would result in the upgrade being effective on my main number ***. If there is, please show it to me, I am happy to accept that I did not read and move on. If not, I can take Vodacom to court, because there was absolutely no indication of such, why would I upgrade a line not yet due for upgrade, and surely Vodacom would not approve such thing- so I want to see where on the site, while doing an upgrade online, it mentions that you can only upgrade your main number and no others.
Now my main number has been upgraded and the price plan changed, I now have to pay for my old price plan and the new one as well? Why would any sane person do that, when the "new" plan is an actual downgrade from what I had? I want an explanation for this, A.S.A.P.
In addition to the above message, which I emailed and the dropped to Vodacom's inbox, I received an sms saying that the 2 month free theft cover has expired and cancelled. I only received the phone on the 11th of May, its now 31 May, how is 2 months up?
Vodacom has no cooking clue what they are up too and are literally all about robbing people and I challenge you to prove me wrong!
Regards
