Vodacom Vodaphone Ripp Off
My teen old daughter dropped her new entry-level Vodaphone smartphone and cracked the screen. She had saved up for 6 months to buy it. The phone was bought outright on prepaid from Game, and I was willing to pay for the repairs. Game and other repair shops suggested I go directly to Vodaworld. When booking the phone in I was told there were no spares for any Vodaphones in South Africa and the complete phone would need to be replaced at a cost of approx. R800. Let's calculate: R1200 new, one repair: R800, two repairs R1600. (most phones will need at least one or two repairs in their lifetime) This particular R1200 phone will actually cost you R2800. Tidy little ******* scheme Vodacom, well done. If someone had informed me before I bought this phone of the spares issue, I could have bought another brand/phone that's better serviced locally. What a waste of time and money, I will never have any dealings with Voda**** again, you've lost a customer for life.
