Vodacom Vodamail debacle and theft

On 28/01/2022 I received an SMS that my current free vodamail account will automatically be migrated to a premium service and cost R29 p.m. from 31/03/2022 unless I decline. I promptly rep**** "2" to decline. I also logged into vodamail webmail a month later and deleted the account, after which I could no longer log-in:"user does not exist." Great, I thought. On 26/05/2022 I received an SMS that R29 would be deducted from my airtime for my vodamail account, and it was promptly automatically deducted without my consent on 27/05/2022. I followed the same procedure for my mother's vodamail account, and I suspect R29 was also deducted from her airtime. I have tried to contact Vodacom on their call centre, but Tobi (their "bot") makes it impossible for me to speak to an actual person. I have also tried cancelling it online, but there is no such option on my Vodacom portal, nor can I access vodamail to "re"-cancel my subscription, as the link to vodamail on Vodacom's website times out every single time / it's a broken link. If this does not get sorted, my next step will be to port my number to another network - after being a Vodacom customer for almost 20 years.

Many thanks to the kind and courteous agent that contacted me - she was very pleasant to deal with, was knowledgeable and swiftly assisted me in sorting out my issue. Thank you very much - I appreciate it! However, I still feel that Vodacom should have done better in the first place. Having these sort of system errors, making it difficult for customers to sort out their problems on the existing digital/online Vodacom systems, and having links on your website that take customers to the wrong / old / broken websites - is simple put, unprofessional. But thanks for sorting the above query out - it went better than I thought it would.
