Vodacom violates consumer ethics
Last year I bought several small denomination perforated paper prepaid airtime vouchers.

I left some in the cubbyhole of my car and at my girlfriend's place so that I would always have airtime in an emergency no matter where I was. Good thinking right?

Well, maybe not so much. I was cleaning things out and decided to use them up but when I dialled *100*01*pin number# it said to call Customer Care.

So I did (4/2/16 19:13). They said to try dialling 100 and entering the pin numbers manually. The automated voice said they had expired.

So I called Vodacom back (4/2/16 19:39), I gave them the serial numbers and pin numbers to load them on their end but they couldn't.

I spoke to two agents as well as a supervisor, Tintswalo Maceke, for half an hour who all said there was nothing they could do as they -- get this -- \don't sell airtime\" so they couldn't do anything to help me.

I told them that it's ********* and in violation of the Consumer Protection Act (Act No. 68 of 2008) for Vodacom to sell a product that expires without it having any indication on the product when it expires or that it expires at all!

I've been a loyal customer for almost 15 years and I'm frankly astonished."
