Vodacom vaulty phone on a brand new contract

Bought a iPhone 16 online at Vodacom. Phone arrived. Noticed the phone might have some software issues. Couldn't hear sound aswell. Took the phone instore to Tokai branch, they claimed they can't help me with online purchases. They connected me to the online customer care I spoke to a manager and was so arrogant and rude and said if I dont want to option of cancelling my order and ordering a new device then I can book the device in and they'll fetch it and repair it. I said I don't accept those options because it's a new phone and a contract I'll be paying for 3 years. I shouldn't have gotten a faulty phone in the first place. If I return the device for repairs then I would be without a phone for possibly weeks. He then just hung up on me. Staff at blueroute mall advised me to go all the way to Canalwalk which I did and the told me that they can book the phone in and the store would be credited for me to get a new device and they gave me a Vivo to use in the mean time. My phone has been with repairs in Joburg now for almost a month and all I'm nearing is that it's prioritised and they will get to it. Why should I pay for a 'new device' that's being fiddled with now for repairs when I shouldve gotten a proper new device in the first place. I've expressed this over amd over. Now they're telling me they can't give credit for a new phone as they can't guarantee how the devices come from the manufacturer. They can only repair the phone for me. I'm refusing at this point for a broken device that's being fiddled with. I app**** for a new phone I'm supposed to get a new phone because wits a new contract. This isnt fair treatment to a consumer and the processes of trying to get things sorted is even worse. Don't over products and provide faulty devices. Then I need to pay by debit order for a phone I haven't seen or used in almost a month. I don't want to cancel my contract I want a new phone. It's my right as a consumer. Stop messing me around. I have the IME of the other device so I will know if you're sending me the same phone. I want a new phone which was the contractual agreement in the first place when I app**** for the contract. I haven't received an update in over a week on the status of my phone. I have to phone you guys and when I do no one can tell me exactly what's happening or when I will get my phone. I want a new phone I don't want a tampered phone.
