Vodacom uses a third party who don't advise clients they are not Vodacom
I upgraded in December 2020, when I called I initially wanted to put notice on my account and move to another company. I was transferred to the retention department who offered me a great deal on an iPhone 12 Pro, I took it and only later did I see they put my contract on 36 months and not 24 which I did not agree to on the upgrade call. I called Vodacom only to find out they didn't upgrade me but a third party called Elite mobile upgraded me and I need to contact them. This was very unsettling as I thought I was Vodacom's client but it looks as if Elite Mobile is my provider. I called Elite Mobile who said the query will take 10 working days to resolve. It has been over a month with no feedback except when I call Vodacom who call Elite Mobile who say they will pass onto a team leader to call me back, which they never do and I called back again today while on hold for 15 minutes and Elite Mobile gave me the same story...no feedback and they will call me back.
I am getting conflicting information, I first had Vodacom retention calling advising they will put forward a request to collect the device and replace with the same device at the same time with a 2 year contract starting when I upgraded in the December 2020.
The I was called by Elite the next day advising they are collecting and not replacing the device. The the day after I was called by Vodacom customer service who said they are not aware of what is arranged but if the device is collect and replaced then the 2 year contract will take effect when the exchange occurs, which I explained was not was arranged and if this was the case then I would still be on a 3 year contract as I upgraded almost a year ago, this will make no sense as this does not solve my complaint and I will still be financially negatively effected.
