Vodacom useless yet again
So I went to Vodacom Pavillion today to take a new data contract. After waiting over an hour in the queue, I was finally called up to the consultant to assist me. He had punched my details on the system and found that I had previously taken a contract with vodacom which was expired and paid up. He however advised me that the status of my profile is Active meaning that I currently still have an active contract with Vodacom which I know nothing of. He also didn't pick up that there were any active contracts on my name and said that this is a system issue that occurs. To get this resolved and take the new contract, I will have to call the Vodacom call center and report this to them who will refer me to the correct division. I advised him that I had this same issue a few months ago when I wanted to perform a Sim swap and the call center did the change and my sim swap was successful. He advised that there's nothing he can do until the status of my profile is changed again. Apparently the division that can assist do not operate over the weekend and I will have to call them tomorrow. I waited in the queue to take the contract for over an hour just to be told this which is absolutely unacceptable from my point of view as the customer. How am I as the customer supposed to know that my profile hasn't changed on the Vodacom system which I have no sight of? I work in the IT Retail Space and know how systems and customer service is supposed to work and this is absolutely disgusting customer service.. If I want to take this contract, I must phone this division to sort my profile status out and then go back to the store, wait for over an hour again in the queue and will probably get some other excuse as to why I can't take the contract. Vodacom seriously need to review their system and implement a monitoring tool to eliminate these issues.
