Vodacom USELESS - Unable to activate LTE on a new SIM for a week so far

Hi,

Got a new iPhone 7 for my wife on the 30th of October (as part of the normal upgrade process). Vodacom is unable to activate LTE services on the device - One should assume this will be activated by default when upgrading to a phone like this, correct?

Call the call centre - they can't sort it out. Put me through to so called 'technical support' - useless. After 4 calls to the call centre and all I can hear is that it is enabled on the SIM, check your phone settings. I am working as an IT product engineer myself, and in the technical support world. I would have already checked the settings myself before even making a call.

So basic troubleshooting = I have an iPhone myself, also using a nano SIM (on Vodacom) where by miracle my LTE services are actually working - I just swopped the SIM to my wife's phone and Bob's your uncle, it's working. I then placed my SIM in my wife's phone, and it is still just running on 3G. How come your support staff can't understand this very basic troubleshooting and that there are either an issue with the SIM itself or the configuration on your system? I can teach this to a 4 year old?

So I went to Mall Of Africa Vodacom today, got assisted by a consultant. I explained the story and said they need to provide me with a new SIM. He said that will be another R200. I laughed as this is bull****. I have paid R200 for the useless SIM last week when I did the SIM swop from Micro to Nano. I said to the consultant, why can't you just swop the SIM from this store at no cost? He explained to me, and read carefully - "We cannot swop the SIM for a new one at this store, as we are part of a franchise, you need to go back to the store where you bought the phone & SIM" So I need to go back to Clearwater Vodacom to change the SIM for R200 because the new one that I paid for a week ago isn't working properly?

I was literally laughing in this consultants face - How can one still be in business with *********** consultants, support staff and so they call them higher level technical support Please go and listen to your voice recordings on the system made last week from my number to support - If your system if even in working order - Won't surprise me if that also isn't working...

I am a customer for more than 10 years myself, and this is what I get for service? So I wonder how much longer will Vodacom take to just complete this one simple task? I know it takes less than 5 minutes. We are going for day 8 now. I won't pay a cent more for this, and if Vodacom cares anything about their clients, they will deliver a new SIM to me.

Seems like Vodacom just don't care about their clients. What I need assistance with is really basic and they can't resolve it! It's a joke!

Got a call again today, the issue is still not resolved. LTE/4G still not active on the SIM.

PLEASE Vodacom can you sort this issue out?? I was called on Saturday to actually find out that LTE was NOT activated on the SIM, according to another unnamed tech support person - They never tell you their names. I was told that it will now be activated, I got the SMS from Vodacom to say that LTE is activated, and STILL NOTHING.

So I went to Clearwater store on Saturday 12 November at 12:00 to do a SIM swop. I payed for a SIM swop 2 weeks before and the ******** manager charged me for this! Once again showing Vodacom don't give a **** about their clients.

But I paid in the hope that this **** will be resolved now, but NO it isn't!

Vodacom I think this look great for you as company! After buying a new iPhone on the 30th of October, customers can expect at-least a 17 day delay before LTE will be activated - You should add this to the fine print. I think you will reach 30 days.... Let see..

So I have done all the troubleshooting for you - YOUR system and sytem operators are up to ****! Nothing wrong with the phone or SIM. I'll bet some money on this.

Vodacom please change your slogan to "Vodacom, South Africa's Most Useless Cellular Operator" At-least then you will have less complaints.
