***VODACOM = USELESS***
I renewed my contract in Oct 2017 at Vodacom in Garden Route Mall and was told that I get a free sim card with 20gb worth of data to use within 6 months. I had to sign for this said sim card and that was the end of that. I cancelled my contract at the end of Nov 2021 but noticed that an additional sim card and cell number was still active on my account.
I phoned Vodcacom to find out why there was an amount of R115 being deducted, they advised that this was an additional contract. I advised them that not once during the past 5 years has anyone at Vodacom contacted me to advise that this line was not in use nor did they ask me if I wished to upgrade this line. Had I known about this, I would have raised my concerns a long time ago. I requested a full refund on this line as same had never been used and also due the fact that I was actually ******* into signing for this additional sim card at a cost of R115 pm.
The biggest joke here is that Vodacom are not interested in my side of the story. Each and every time I phone them up, I have to start afresh with a new complaint. They have advised me to request a copy of my contract from Vodacom Garden Route.
So I called up Vodacom at the mall(this Vodashop is part of Tyger Cellular in Cape Town)I was advised by one of the agents that they don't keep a copy of the contract and I had to call Tyger Cellular HQ on ***. I was then advised by Melissa that they could not email the contract due to the POPI act and I need to go in store at Garden Route Mall to request a copy...what a load of BS!! I have come to the conclusion that this battle is futile and that I am going to waste my time.
When contacting Vodacom HQ again, the agents I speak to try and sell me a new contract and don't actually care about the ***** that has been committed on my account for over 5 years!!!
Vodacom's call center simply refuses one to speak to a Supervisor/Manager.
My current dispute reference number is ***
The second problem here is that I am unable to top-up my current Vodacom number as they(Vodacom)have now blocked my number for some odd reason. I am only able to buy nightshift minutes and data at R7 per day!!
It seems that I am only going to waste my time as this is going to be a "point the finger and blame game" between Vodacom and the Vodashop....
Thank you once again for confirmation that Vodacom is at the bottom of the pile when it comes to customer service!
If only I could have chosen ZERO stars on this review
Good day,
Thank you for the response.
On the call received from *** at19:46 on the 11th of April I was advised that the refund to my query would be processed.
I just received notification of the refund = R3 450.00
According to my calculation the flexi line was charged at R100 excl vat since October 2017, that gives us 52 months.
If you would like to get technical then is was R114 vat incl from Oct 2017 to March 2018 = R114 x 6 = R684.00
From April 2018(when the vat rate increased to 15%) to Feb 2022 a total R115 was charged x 46 Months = R5 290.00
The total refund according to my calculation should be R 5 974.00 This means that Vodacom still owes me R 2 524.00
Will you please email me a copy of the recon done for this refund so that we can be on the same page i.t.o this dilemma?
For some reason I am unable to access my billing and according to my knowledge an FSP must keep records of transaction for a minimum of 5 years form date of termination of contract.
I would just like to correct the following information; " our records indicate that our Back office has assisted and have credited your Vodacom account due too the late cancellation" This issue was not due to a late cancellation but due to Vodacom and Vodashop adding a flexi line to my existing account without my knowledge.
I await your soonest response herein.
Kind Regards
Corbett Miles
