Vodacom Upgrades, Charges You but You are Left with Nothing

On the 8th May, I attempted to upgrade my contract.

The first time, I wasn’t informed that they cancelled the upgrade as I had picked a package that expired 2 days AFTER I upgraded. First mistake. 2nd time, they said they tried to deliver it, but I wasn’t available at my workplace or home. I told them I work form home, and was there on the day. 3rd time, they said they didn’t have stock.

So, since May, I have tried to cancel the upgrade so I can go into a Vodacom shop and organize it with someone so I can see what they are doing. No luck.

I have also been charged for my old handset which is paid off, and the new one which I have never received since May. My bill has gone from about 328 a month to 790. No!!!!!!!!

I am constantly phoning and getting the phone put down on me. I have been put through to numerous departments and told they are escalating it. One escalation has been outstanding since June and is still “IN PROGRESS”. One gentleman I spoke to today at the Solutions department told me that Brian in Escalations is the owner of this, but whenever he tries to call him, he simply says he’s going to phone me and puts the phone down.

I have spoken to Dikeledi in Solutions, who told me Sharon would be calling me to sort this out once and for all. No phone call.

So, since May, I have been overcharged by approximately R2000, which I want refunded into my personal account. I do NOT want it refunded into my contract account. I need that money for other things. I also want the upgrade cancelled as I have been promised numerous times.

I have been told a total of 5 times that my upgrade has been cancelled by people who have assured me that they have literally done it as we speak, only to go into a Vodacom shop and be told by the people there my contract has been upgraded. So, I have been **** to, messed around and been charged a **********ly large amount of money for something I do not have.

I am tired of the promises that I have been given by Vodacom. I have been a loyal customer for years and this is the way the company is now treating it’s customers?

Please do NOT reply with the usual 'a consultant" will contact you whitewash message. I've spoken to most of the consultants that work for Vodacom. Nothing is done.

As expected, no resolution, and very little attempt to resolve my problem. I still have an upgraded contract that shouldn't have been upgraded. I had to pay the R778 odd for 2 handsets, one of which I've paid off and the other that I never received. I did receive a mail from Cassandra (ref EC-04AT-2XQ5V3) on the 30/9 stating that a request had been logged with billing dept to remove the second handset instalment and "once done" all relevant credits will be loaded. Well, I have escalations dating back to July, so how long will this take? Also, no mention of cancelling the upgrade that was incorrectly done. I tried to call, only to be told that nobody knows what dept Cassandra is in. For the record, I do NOT WANT a credit to my Vodacom account. The funds were taken in error from my banking account, I want refunds directly into my banking account. NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!!!!

It is now October 10. Received another mail from Cassandra stating that she had loaded the credit for last month on my Vodacom account. Nothing for the other months since May that still haven't been done (1 for June - YIPPEE). I was also informed that I would only be paying for 1 handset. Vodacom, I have paid for the old handset and never received the upgraded one. Why am I paying for any. Why was the credit only done for last month? What about July/August/September and why am I being asked if it's ok to credit my Vodacom account. I stipulated No many times, but, apparently, this is too difficult to sort out.
